My First Real Camera

Generally speaking, there isn't really an "unreal" camera, unless you're speaking in the context of, "that camera is unreal".

I am sure we can all agree that we have come across one of those.

From my point of view, shooting with a fixed focus, fixed aperture point and shoot offered very few creative options. Yes, it was handy for carrying around on Sunday morning rides and was good for practicing some basic camera skills (framing shots for instance).

I was wanting to explore different aspects of photography and that chance finally arrived by way of a work mate who was selling his Olympus OM-10 with a couple of Sigma lenses.  The camera also had the optional Manual Adapter, so I was able  to explore even more avenues of "creativity".

The body was in great shape and the lenses were okay for a first 35mm SLR, so I dolled over the cash and walked away a happy camper, ready to blow through rolls of Kodak film.

What was your first camera? Feel free to share your story.
